Who we are
Oly King
Director | Early Childhood Educator
Oly was born and raised in the beautiful Sonoma County, where her deep connection to the community and passion for early childhood education first began. An alumna of both Santa Rosa Junior College and Sonoma State University, Oly earned her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Studies, solidifying her foundation in child development and education.
Her career in education began in 2008 at ChildKind, where she quickly developed a rich and varied experience that spanned both classroom and administrative roles. Oly’s passion for nurturing young minds and creating supportive environments for families guided her path, leading her to serve as the director of Hidden Valley Community Preschool from 2018 to 2021. During her tenure, Oly was instrumental in enhancing the preschool’s curriculum and fostering strong partnerships with families, helping to ensure that each child’s individual needs were met. In 2022, Oly returned to ChildKind, where she continues to bring her wealth of knowledge and expertise to the school’s leadership.
Oly's unique perspective as both a dedicated educator and a stepmother and mother has deeply shaped her approach to teaching and guiding children. She brings a heartfelt understanding of the challenges and rewards families face during the crucial toddler years, and is particularly skilled at supporting children as they transition successfully from early childhood into their elementary school careers. Her work is rooted in empathy, respect, and a firm belief in the importance of fostering a nurturing, child-centered environment where children can thrive.
Outside of her professional life, Oly enjoys exploring the world around her. Whether she’s in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes or baking comforting treats, or off on an adventure hiking and camping with her family, Oly values the importance of connecting with nature and creating meaningful memories. These personal experiences continue to inspire her teaching, reinforcing her belief in the significance of play, exploration, and real-world learning.
